Encourage Her....

Recently, we've been adding new furniture to her room. She asked for a desk and a chair so she could work on her studies and her art. Of course we said! We even bought a cool lamp that has a magnifying lens. Two years ago as I was standing in her bio family's home, the kitchen to be exact. I was getting ready to take her to the art store. She'd never been and I had to buy some things for a project. This was before I knew what went on when no one was looking and I was telling her mother that she really should encourage her to draw and paint because she is really good. She has natural talent. I don't have that talent and wow I've always wanted to be able to draw. Her mom just looked at me like, umm, we'll see. I didn't really understand that because any time our children showed interest in something we were all about lessons and whatever it took to help them. Hey Rick, What's that song?

Woke up this morning thinking about the VBS song we used to sing, This Little Light of Mine. Did y'all sing that? This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine and then it goes on to say the devil is going to blow it out. Not gonna let that happen. It went something like that and if it wasn't 7:30am I'd look up the exact words but that's not what's important here. Just to let everyone know who's kept up with the blog since the summer, we are good. Our family is doing well and our lives are truly blessed.  We  still have days where Rick and I look at each other and say, they just let her go, they literally gave us their child to finish raising and they never looked back. We are still in disbelief over that and it hurts our hearts so very much for her. But, with that being said, we keep moving forward doing our best for all our children.
